During the rebrand efforts, one of the challenges was to rethink the mega-menu. Ritani’s menus were crowded and didn’t take full advantage of horizontal space.
The challenge was to display a long list of navigation options in the fly-out menu. The site has many pages in many categories, in a hierarchy with three or more levels. We wanted to expose most of these pages by surfacing more links that made the content more attractive to casual customers. On each menu, we presented a well-organized list of links. Arranged them into Titled Sections and use a sorting order that suits the nature of the content,
Users won’t have to drill down into categories and subcategories of the site hierarchy in order to discover interesting pages—they’ll see them there, right up front.
